Georg Ruppel, a farmer, and his wife Anna Dorothea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 August 1766 aboard the galliot named St. Johannes (Saint John) under the command of Skipper Carstens Stahl.
Johann George Rupel [sic], his wife Anna Dorothea, and daughter Anna Maria (age 2) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Anna Maria died in route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Frank and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 40.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Ruppel came from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that Georg Ruppel came from the German village of Kunerot [?] in the Isenburg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Ruppel family among the Volga German colonies.
