Ruppel (Norka)
Johann Georg Ruppel, son of Heinrich and Anna Catharina Ruppel, was born 12 November 1744 and baptized 15 November 1744 in Neuenhaßlau. Anna Elisabetha Scheibel, daughter of Gottfried & Anna Elisabetha Scheibel, was born 2 February 1739 and baptized 8 February 1739 in Niedermittlau. Johann Georg and Anna Elisabetha married 4 April 1766 in Büdingen.
Along with Anna Elisabeth's sister, Catharina (age 36), they arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767, and are recorded there on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 87.
Georg Ruppel and his family are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 201.
They are still living in Norka at the time of the 1798 Census in Household No. Nr211.
[There is a Johann Heinrich Rupp recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr006. The 1811 Norka census records him as Johann Heinrich Kleiber.]
