Adam [recorded as Karl] Ruppteschel, a miller, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Kronstadt under the command of Lieutenant Samuel Gibbs.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Pfeifer but only daughter Elisabeth survived to be recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 44 along with the Joseph Lindner family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Lindner and Ruppteschel families.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Karl Ruppteschel came from the German region of Darmstadt.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
