Christian Russ, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Maria, and son Johann Martin (age 17) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Boisroux in Household No. 60 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Meinhard in 1768.

Son [Johann] Martin Russ from Meinhard is recorded on the 1798 census of Kind in Household No. Kd01.

The 1767 census records that Christan Russ came from the German village of Westerburg.
