Georg Rutkowski, a farmer, his wife Katharina Schöleben, and children (Christian, age 16; Helena, age 15¼) arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 April 1766 aboard a two-masted merchant ship named Der Kleine Andreas (The Little Andrew) under the command of Skipper Jacob Jensen.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 25 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 59.
The 1767 census records that Georg Rutkowski came from the German village of Fell in the region of Trier.
