Andreas Sabelfeld, son of Andreas Sabelfeld, married on 25 January 1745 in Wiesbaden to Margaretha Elisabeth Weiss, daughter of Johann Christian Weiss & Katharina Margaretha Stammler. Margaretha Elisabeth Weiss had been born 17 April 1721 in Wiesbaden, and baptized there on 19 April 1721.
The baptism of a child born to Andreas Sabelfeld & Margaretha Elisabeth Weiss is recorded in the parish register of Wiesbaden: (1) Johann Georg, born 14 August 1749, baptized 15 August 1749.
Andreas Sabelfeld & Anna Elisabeth von Hess were married on 17 July 1766 in the Lutheran Cathedral (Evangelische Kirche Dom) in Lübeck.
Andreas Sabelfeld, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children [by his first wife] (Johann, age 14; Philipp, age 10; Anna, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
Andres Sabelfeld (age 45), a dyer (Färber), his wife Anna Elisabeth Heiss [sic] (age 28), and children (Johann Georg, age 18; Johann Philipp, age 15; Katharina, age 6; Johann Christoph, age 3-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 161. They had arrived in Katharinenstadt on 17 August 1767.
Andreas Sabelfeld (age 59), a stocking maker (Strumpfweber), his wife Anna Elisabeth née Heisch [Hess] (age 41), and children (Johann Georg, age 24; Johann Philipp, age 19; Katharina, age 16; Johann Christoph Lorenz, age 8; Friedrich, age 5; Friedrich [again], age 3) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 109 along with a note that son Johann Georg married the widow Maria Leben.
Son Johann [Philipp] Sabelfeld (age 24), his wife Maria Wilhelmina née Sachs (widow Luley) (age 40), and her children (Ludwig Wilhelm Luley, age 25; Wilhelmina Luley, age 15) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 64 along with a note that Ludwig Wilhelm Luley deserted the colonies in 1772.
In 1794, Johann Friedrich Sabelfeld moved from Katharinenstadt to Beauregard.
The 1767 census records that Andreas Sabelfeld came from the German region of Nassau-Usingen. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Andreas Sabelfeld came from the German town of Saalfecht [perhaps Saalfeld] near Julich and that Johann Sabelfeld came from the German town of Königsbergen [?] in the region of Prussia.
