Bernhard Sack, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Johannes, age 7; Michael, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.
His family evidently died. Bernhard settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 25 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 68 along with new wife Margaretha Vierschenk.
The 1767 census records that Bernhardt Sack came from the German village of Attaching in the Würzburg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Sack family among the Volga German colonies.
