Johann Sahl and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 26 June 1767. Johann died on 5 September 1767.
Widow Katharina Sahl and her children (Johannes, age 12; Katharina, age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dehler in Household No. 47.
The 1767 census records that Johann's wife Katharina came from the German village of Neustadt in the Trier region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Sahl family among the Volga German colonies.
