Konrad Sacksmannhausen, a cobbler, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 23 June 1766 aboard the Russian boat named Не тронь меня (Don't Touch Me) under the command of Midshipman Emelyan Lozhnikov.
Konrad Sassmannhausen [also Sacksmannhausen], a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Elisabeth, and son Elias (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. 26. They had settled there on 10 June 1767.
In 1788, Konrad Samzan [sic] moved from Stahl am Karaman to Engels.
The death of Maria Elisabeth Sassmann [sic] on 5 August 1798 (age 57) is recorded in the parish register of Reinwald.
The 1767 census records that Konrad Sassmannhausen came from the German village of Grünberg in the Darmstadt region.
