Schäfer (Norka-1)
Johannes Schäfer, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Henriette Julianna settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.
Widower Johannes Schäfer and his sons (Johannes, age 24; Heinrich, age 21; Johann Peter, age 15) are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr066.
The death of Johannes Schäfer in 1801 is recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 66 along with a note that son Johannes relocated to the colony of Balzer in 1803 and son Johann Peter relocated to the colony of Krasnoyar in 1804 [sic].
Johann Peter Schäfer from Norka is recorded on the 1811 census of Krasnoyar in Household No. 29 along with a note that he had arrived in Krasnoyar from Norka in 1802 [sic].
The 1767 census records that Johannes Schäfer came from the German district of Isenburg.
