Schaaf (Keller)*
Johannes Schaaf, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Vergelte Weintraube under the command of Skipper Anderson.
It appears that the entire family except for Johannes died after arrival in Russia. Johannes remarried to the widow Katharina Brehm who had arrived in Oranienbaum on the same ship.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 59 along with the surviving Brehm children.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Schaaf came from the German village of Villmar in the Kurtrier region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schaaf family among the Volga German colonies.
