Johannes Scharf and his wife Anna Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1767 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

Johannes and his wife Elisabeth Margaretha Scharf are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 71 along with his stepson Johannes Kraft (age 3) and Elisabeth Margaretha's children from a previous marriage [surname not recorded] (Anna Margaretha, age 14; Elisabeth, age 8; Johann Peter, age 4). They had settled in Norka on 15 August 1767.

Johannes Scharf, his wife Elisabeth Margaretha, and children (Heinrich, age 6; Johann Konrad, age 4; Sophia, age 1) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 7 along with his stepson Johannes Kraft (age 12) and other [step-]children [surname not recorded] Anna Elisabeth (age 18) and Johann Peter (age 14).

In 1790, Johann Peter Scharf moved from Norka to Bangert.

In 1792, Johann Heinrich Scharf left Norka.

By 1798, Heinrich Scharf from Norka is recorded living in Straub (Sr37).  Konrad Scharf of Norka is also recorded on the 1798 census as working in Kukkus.

Konrad Scharf is recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 223 along with a note that he has moved to the colony of Neu-Straub.

Widow Katharina Scharf and her family are recorded on the 1834 census of Neu-Straub in Household No. 27.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johannes Scharf came from the German district of Isenburg.
