Schaub (Kukkus)
Christoph Schaub, his wife Maria, and son Wilhelm (age 10) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.
Christoph Schaab [sic], his wife Maria Elisabeth, and children (Johann Wilhelm, age 16¼; Catrina Elisabeth, age 2-weeks) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that infant Catrina Elisabeth died en route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 30.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christoph Schaub was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a wood worker (Dreher).
The 1767 census records that Christoph Schaub came from the German village of Biskirchen near Braunfels.
