Johann Adam Scheidmantel from Schwartzfels married in Düdelsheim on 5 April 1742 to Anna Catharina Raab, daughter of Anton & Anna Elisabetha Raab. She had been baptized in Düdelsheim on 23 November 1721.

The baptisms of the following children born to Johann Adam Scheidmantel & Anna Catharina Raab are recorded on the parish register of Düdelsheim: (1) Anna Margaretha, baptized 1 June 1742; (2) Catharina, baptized 27 September 1744; (3) Susanna, baptized 19 February 1746; (4) Conrad, baptized 31 May 1750; (5) Johann Georg, baptized 4 March 1753; and (6) Anna Elisabetha, baptized 2 July 1759.

Catharina Scheidmantel married 10 August 1764 in Düdelsheim to Philipp Kaiser.

Johann Adam Scheidmantel died in Germany. His widow, Anna Catharina Scheidmantel née Raab arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard a packet-boat under the command of Midshipman Mankensey along with daughters (Katharina; Susanna, age 20; Elisabeth, age 8) and Katharina's husband Philipp Kaiser.

Anna Katharina [Scheidmantel née Raab] and her daughter Anna Elisabeth (age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 45 along with her daughter Katharina and son-in-law Philipp Kaiser. [See Kaiser Family.]

Susanna Iskam [née Scheidmantel] is recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 59 along with her [new] husband Johann Georg Iskam. [See Iskam Family.]

[Anna] Elisabeth Kähm [née Scheidmantel] is recorded on the 1798 census of Balzer in Household No. Bz013. [See Kähm Family.] She is recorded there along with an illegitimate son Heinrich (age 18) whose surname is assumed to be Scheidmantel.

Heinrich Scheidmantel and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Balzer in Household No. 226.

Heinrich Scheidmantel, son of Heinrich Scheidmantel, and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Balzer in Household No. 235.

Some documents erroneously record this surname as Scheidemann. Some documents record this surname as Scheidelmann.
