The parish register of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Reuth records the marriage of Mattias Seehr of Weilersbach to Anna Bayer of Reuth on 20 August 1759.
The parish register of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Reuth records the baptisms of the following children born to Matthias Seehr & Anna Bayer: (1) Margaretha, baptized 19 November 1759; and (2) Barbara, baptized 19 April 1761.
Mattias Stöhr [sic], a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughters (Margaretha, age 8; Barbara, age 5; Katharina, age 2¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 June 1766 aboard the ship named Die Neue Fortuna (The New Fortune) under the command of Skipper Ahrens Steingraber.
Matthias Stöhr is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Mattias Scherr, a farmer, his unnamed wife, and daughter Barbara (age 6) settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 86 along with a note that the unnamed wife had died 28 August 1767.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Mattias Scherr came from the German village of Reuth in the Bamberg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Scherr family among the Volga German colonies.
