Scheuermann (Norka)*

Johann Hermann Scheuermann, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 8, Konrad, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the barque named Fortitudo under the command of Skipper John Scott.

Johann Charmant [sic] and his daughter Anna Elisabeth (age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the father Johann died en route.

Anna Elisabeth Scheuermann (age 8) is recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 166 with the family of Ludwig Batt.  No relationship between the Scheuermann and Batt families is recorded on the 1767 census.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Scheuermann family among the Volga German colonies.
