Balthasar Schlager, a farmer, his wife Ursula, and daughter Anna Maria (age 16) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Adler (Eagle) under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
Balthaser Schlegel, his wife Ursula, and daughter Anna Maria (age 16) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Balthasar Schlager (age 47), a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Ursula (age 47) are recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 48. They had arrived in Brabander on 19 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Balthasaar Schlager came from the German region of Baden. The 1767 census records that Balthasar Schlager came from the German village of Foudenbach [Woudenberg?] in the province of Utrecht [in the Netherlands].
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schlager family among the Volga German colonies.
