Martin Schlamp, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.

The 1767 census records that Martin Schlamp came from the German region of Kurpfalz.
