Schleuning (Boisroux)
August Schleuning, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
August Schleunig, his wife Anna Barbara, and children (Anna Margaretha, age 10½; Joh. Caspar, age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
The parents died after arrival in Russia and the surviving children settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census with daughter Margaretha in Household No. 67 with the Christian Schmidt family and son Johann Kaspar in Household No. 69 with the Martin Nowak family. A relationship among the Schleuning, Schmidt, and Nowak families is not recorded on the 1767 census.
In 1792, Kaspar Schleuning moved from Boisroux to Katharinenstadt. The 1798 census records that Kaspar is living in Basel (Bs23).
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that August Schleuning came from the German district of Darmstadt.
