Joseph Schlister, a miller (Müller), his wife Barbara, and his daughter from a previous marriage Kunigunda (age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 46. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.
The 1767 census records that Joseph Schlister came from the German village of Pentmainz [?] in the region of Böhmen (Bohemia).
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
