Heinrich Schmall, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Johanna Jakobina settled in the Volga German colony of Walter on 25 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4.
The 1767 census records that Heinrich Schmall came from the village of Kronstadt in Russia.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schmall family among the Volga German colonies.
