Johann Peter Schmidt, a blacksmith (Schmied), and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
In 1778, Peter Schmidt and his family moved from Boisroux to Katharinenstadt.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Peter Schmidt came from Prussia while the 1767 census records that he came from the region of Jambin.
