Peter Schmidt, a single carpenter (Tischler), arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 27 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Слон (Slon - Elephant in Russian) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
Peter Schmidt, a farmer, and his wife Anna Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Frank and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.
Widower Peter Schmidt and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk044.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Schmidt came from the German region of Rüdesheim. The 1767 census records that Peter Schmidt came from the German village of Lenrot in the Freie Adelprovinz der alten Ritter.
