Joseph Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Agnessa, and daughter Maria Ursula (age ½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kamenka in Household No. 50. They had arrived in Kamenka on 6 July 1765.

The 1767 census records that Joseph Schmidt came from the German village of Hassfurt.
