Schmidt (Krasnoyar-2)*

Bartholomäus Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Johanna Christina, and children (Johann Konrad, age 13; Maria Elisabeth, age 10; Heinrich Christoph, age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Lieutenant Gawril Poduzki.

Bartholomeus Schmidt, his wife Johanna Christina, and children (Johann Conrad, age 15; Maria Elisabeth, age 10¼; Johann Heinrich, age 7) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 80.

The 1767 census records that Bartholomäus Schmidt came from the German village of Lauterbach in the Riedesel region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schmidt family among the Volga German colonies.
