Schmidt (Müller)
Johann[es] Schmidt (age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1866 aboard the ship Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson. He was travelling with his sister Elisabeth and her husband Philipp Wilhelm.
Johannes Schmidt, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Kolb on 13 May 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Müller in 1768 and was working as a day-laborer (Lohnarbeiter).
The 1798 census of Frank records Johann Schmidt from Kolb in Household No. Fk066.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Schmidt came from the German village of Rossbach in the Hanau region.
