Thomas Schmucker was born in approximately 1782 in the Bavarian village of Erwindorf [sic]. He was a merchant.
He served as a non-commissioned officer in the 2nd Cavalry (Jäger) Regiment of Napoleon's Army. He fought against the Russians and was captured.
Milovidov records that as of 1814 his brother was still living in Erwendorf [sic].
He is recorded on the 1834 census of Kamenka in Household No. 204.
Belousov records that Thomas Schmucker was born in the Bavarian village of Erwindorf [sic]. Milovidov also records that he came from the German town of Erwendorf [sic] in the region of Bayern [Bavaria]. This village is possibly Erbendorf. Further research is needed to verify this location.
