Schneider (Balzer-2)
Johann Schneider, a farmer, his wife Gertrude, and children (Anna, age 23; Johann [Kaspar], age 21; Margaretha, age 18; [Anna] Karolina, age 14; Johannes, age 11; Barbara, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 1 July 1767. Father Johann died. Gertrude and the surviving children are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 82.
Kaspar Schneider, his wife Wilhelmina née Eurich [See Eurich Family.], and their family are recorded on the 1798 census of Balzer in Household No. Bz054.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that this Schneider family came from the German region of Isenburg.
