There are two Schneider families that settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 13 August 1767. They are presumed to be related because they traveled together and are recorded next to each other on the 1767 census of Brabander. Their exact relationship, if any, needs further research.
(1) Anton Schneider and Catharina Hartmann were married 26 May 1757 in Hainzell.
The births of their children are also recorded in Hainzell: (1) Andreas, born 30 May 1758; (2) Anna Catharina, born 28 January 1760; and (3) Gertrud, born 16 April 1762.
A fourth child, Anna Barbara Schneider, daughter of Anton Schneider & Anna Katharina, was born 22 April 1766 and baptized 23 April 1766 in Büdingen as they prepared for departure to Russia.
Anton Schneider, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Andreas, age 8; Katharina, age 6; Barbara, age ¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.
Anton Schneider, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Andreas, age 10; Katharina, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 4.
In 1788, Andreas Schneider moved from Brabander to Dehler.
The widow and family of Andreas Schneider are recorded on the 1798 census of Dehler in Household No. Dl06.
Katharina Stahldecker née Schneider and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Brabander in Household No. Bn35.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton Schneider came from the German region of Fulda. The 1767 census records that Anton Schneider is from the German village of Hainzell near Fulda.
(2) Widow Barbara Schneider and her children (Johann, age 14; Anna Maria, age 12; Barbara, age 4½; Andreas, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.
Widow Barbara Schneider married Jakob Weht with whom she and her family had arrived in Oranienbaum.
Jakob Weht, a farmer, his [new] wife Barbara, son Johann Georg (age 20), and [step-]children (Johannes [Schneider], age 12; Anna Maria [Schneider], age 11; Barbara [Schneider], age 6) are recorded on the 1767 census of Hölzel in Household No. 3. They had arrived in Hölzel on 13 August 1767. [See Weht Family.]
Barbara Weht, widow of Jakob Weht, and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Brabander in Household No. Bn25.
Anna Maria Braun née Schneider and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Brabander in Household No. Bn22.
Johannes Schneider and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Brabander in Household No. Bn38.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Widow Barbara Schneider came from the German region of Franken (Franconia).
