Schneider (Dönhof)
Jakob Schneider, a farmer, his unnamed wife, son Johann Sebastian Schneider (and his unnamed wife), and two additional unnamed children immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Flensburg on 19 June 1762.
They deserted the Danish colonies on 27 April 1765 and joined the migration to Russia.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof on 21 July 1766. Jakob and his family are recorded on the 1767 census of Dönhof in Household No. 11; son Johann Sebastian and his family are recorded there in Household No. 19.
The Eichhorns record that the Schneider family came from "Adelshofen, Herrschaft von Graf von Neipperg, Ritterlicher Kanton Kraichgau." The 1767 census records that they came from the German region of Heilbronn.
