Discussion & Documentation

Konrad Schneider married [perhaps in Denmark] to Maria Elisabeth Beckenbach, daughter of Johann Adam & Anna Margaretha Beckenbach. Maria Elisabeth had been born in Heiligkreuzsteinach on 8 September 1736. The birth of a child born to Konrad Schneider & Maria Elisabeth Beckenbach is recorded in the parish register of Heiligkreuzsteinach: (1) Anna Barbara, born 17 February 1760, died 17 February 1760. The way that the entry is recorded indicates that Konrad Schneider & Maria Elisabeth Beckenbach were not married at the time of the birth.

Konrad & Maria Elisabeth Schneider, immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Friderika on 15 May 1760. They did not remain in Denmark long, as the births of additional children are recorded in the parish register back in Heiligkreuzsteinach: (2) Johann Adam, born 12 June 1761; and (3) Dorothea, born 10 July 1763.

They joined the migration to Russia. Konrad Schneider, a farmer, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and children (Johann Adam, age 7; Anna Maria, age 6-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 5. They had arrived in Moor on 1 July 1766.

Konrad Schneider and his family are recorded on the 1775 census of Moor in Household No. 18.

Konrad Schneider and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Moor in Household No. Mo43.

The death of Konrad Schneider in 1799 is recorded on the 1811 census of Moor.

The 1767 census records that Konrad Schneider came from the German Kurpfalz area. The Eichhorn research of records in Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) note that Conrad Schneider came from the Kellerei Waldeck, Oberamt Heidelberg, Kurpfalz.
