Schneider (Norka-4)*
Johann Schneider, a farmer, and his wife Katharina [Elisabeth] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg. Her daughter and son-in-law Kaspar Schleuning were aboard the same ship.
Elisabeth is recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 117 along with her daughter Elisabeth Margaretha and son-in-law Kaspar Schleuning.
Katharina Elisabeth Schneider (age 60) is recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 171 along with her daughter Elisabeth Margaretha and son-in-law Kaspar Schleuning.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Schneider came from the German region of Isenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schneider family among the Volga German colonies.
