Discussion & Documentation:

Georg Heinrich Schneider, a hunter (Jäger), his wife Katharina, and children (Anna Eva, age 20; Peter, age 15; Maria, age 13; Elisabeth, age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Schönchen in Household No. 9 along with orphan Joseph Ebel (age 15) and a note that they relocated to the colony of Ober-Monjou in 1768. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Schneider and Ebel families.

The 1767 census records that Georg Heinrich Schneider came from the German village of Niederbrechen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schneider family among the Volga German colonies.
