Schneider (Paulskaya-1)*
An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following:
Paul Schneider, a tenant (Mietsmann), with his wife and 2 children, from Meilendorf [sic] in the district of Dessau.
Paul Schneider, his wife Johanna, and daughters (Maria, age 14; Anna, age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Paul Schneyder [sic], his wife Johanna, and daughters (Maria Sophia, age 14; Anna Elisabet, age 1) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Maria Sophia died en route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 25.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Paul Schneider was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a brewer (Bierbrauer).
The 1767 census records that Paul Schneider came from the German village of Wallendorf [?].
