Wilhelm Schneider, a miller (Müller), his wife Julianna, and children (Maria, ge 7; Heinrich, ae 5; Johann, age 4; Katharina, age 2; Philipp, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard the ship named Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 123.
The 1767 census records that Wilhelm Schneider came from the German village of Camberg in the Kurtrier region.
