Philipp Schnell, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Jakob, age 17; Ursula, age 16) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 August 1766 aboard a ship named Der Friede (Peace) under the command of Skipper Hans Karck.
Philipp Schnell, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Jacob, age 17¼; Ursula, age 16) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that father Philipp died in route.
Jakob Schnell (age 17) and his sister Ursula (age 15) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 135 along with their stepfather Friedrich Fuhrmann. [See Fuhrmann Family.]
In 1781, Jakob Schnell moved from Ober-Monjou to Schönchen.
The 1767 census does not record from where the Schnell children came.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schnell family among the Volga German colonies.
