Peter Schönwolf was born about 1791 in the German region of Westfalen.
He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was a musketeer and was captured by the Russians.
Milovidov records that as of 1814, his sister was still living in the German village of Barkhausen and that he had a brother serving in the same regiment that he was.
Peter Schönwolf was settled in the Volga German colony of Enders.
His death in 1830 is recorded on the 1834 Census of Enders in Household No. 63.
