Schreiner (Seelmann)
Nikolaus Schreiner, his wife Maria Magdalena, and children (Maria, age 9; Johann [Paul], age 6; Johanna, age 4½; Franz, 3-days-old) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Heidemann.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 30.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Nikolaus Schreiner was a merchant from the German village of Salmünster. The 1767 census records that he was a farmer from the German village of Soda [Soden?].
[The marriage of a Nicolaus Schreiner from Altglashütten near Motten is recorded on the parish register of Salmünster on 23 November 1757, but the name of the wife is not recorded. There are no children recorded in Salmünster for Nicolaus Schreiner.]
