Schu(h)macher (Frank)
Johann Christian Schuhmacher & widow Anna Elisabeth Hahn were married on 23 September 1765 in Roßlau. This is believed to be the couple that settled in the colony of Frank.
Johann Schuhmacher, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 30 May 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perpechin.
Johann settled in the Volga German colony of Frank in 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7 along with his new wife Katharina Elisabeth [Roth].
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Schuhmacher came from the German region of Holstein. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Mühldorf in the Holstein region.
