Sebastian Schultheis, son of Johann Heinrich & Gertrude Schultheis, was born in May 1701 in Huttersroth. He was baptized on 25 May 1701 in nearby Unterreichenbach. He married Anna Katharina Volz who had been baptized in Unterreichenbach on 12 April 1709. They had seven children:

Johannes, born in 1732
Johann Ernst, born in 1736
Wilhelm, born in 1741
Anna Maria, born in 1743
Johann Georg, born in 1745
Johann Jakob, born in 1748

Sebastian died 1 April 1752. Two of his sons, Johann Ernst (along with his wife Anna Gertruda) & Johann Georg immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the ship Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev.

They and settled in the colony of Huck on 17 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Households No. 84 (Ernst) and No. 86 (Georg).
