Schwar(t)z (Kamenka)*
Johannes Schwarz, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Johannes Schwarz, a farmer, his wife Eva, and children (Weigand, age 20; Katharina, age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kamenka in Household No. 81. They had settled there on 20 June 1767.
Weigand Schwartz and his family (all daughters) are recorded on the 1798 census of Kamenka in Household No. Km006.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johannes Schwarz came from the German region of Mainz while the 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Aschaffenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schwartz family among the Volga German colonies.
