Widow Anna Schwarz, a farmer's wife, her children (Helena, age 20; Jakob, age 17¼), and Bernhard Schwarz and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Hans Christian Korsholm.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Households No. 29 & 32.
Bernhard Schwartz and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household No. Ps27.
The death of Bernhard Schwartz (age 66) of Preuss is recorded on 9 March 1807 in the parish register of Preuss.
Jakob Schwartz and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household no. Ps28.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that this Schwarz family came from the German region of Kölln. The 1767 census records that this Schwarz family came from the German village of Attendorn.
