Johann Friedrich Schweizer, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 11.

The 1767 census records that Johann Friedrich Schweizer came from the German village of Biskirchen near Braunfels.
