Johann Seipel, a carpenter (Tischler), his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Johann Georg, age 20; Anna Maria, age 18; Katharina, age 16; Johann, age 14; Valentin, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 August 1766 aboard the galliot named Die Perle (The Pearl) under the command of Skipper Gerhardt Hermann Thomsen.

Widower Johann Seifeld [sic], a farmer, and his children (Anna Maria, age 20; Katharina, age 18; Valentin, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Yagodnaya Polyana in Household No. 28. They had arrived in Yagodnaya Polyana on 16 September 1767.

Katharina Reich née Seibel and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Yagodnaya Polyana in Household No. Yp86.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Seipel came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that Johann Seifeld [sic] came from the German village of Schotten.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
