Discussion & Documentation:

While in route to Russia, Conrad & Anna Catherine Senning from Altenschlirf in the area of Riedesel had a son Johann Georg Senning born 14 June 1766 and baptized the same day in Büdingen. The godparent is recorded as Joh. Georg Stein from Veitsheim in the area of Riedesel.

Widow Anna Sening, a farmer's wife, and her children (Johann, age 4½; Julianna, age 3; Johann Georg, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Johannes under the command of Skipper Stahl.

Widow Anna Cathar. Sinnig [sic] and her children (Johannes, age 6; Anna Juliana, age 3; Johann Georg, age 1) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both Anna Juliana and Johann Georg died en route.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach.

The 1798 census of Hussenbach records son Johann and his family in Household No. Hs122.

The Oranienabum passenger list records that Anna Sening came from the German region of Riedesel.
