Simon (Warenburg)
Konrad Simon and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.
Conrad Simon, his wife Anna Catharina, and son Heinrich Moritz (age ¼, died in route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 85 along with their 3-week-old daughter Anna Maria.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad Simon was a farmer from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that he was a wheelwright (Wagenbauer) from the German village of Altenbüren in the Darmstadt region.
