Peter Sokolowski, a member of the petty bourgeois (Kleinbürger), settled in the Volga German colony of Husaren on 13 June 1765. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15 along with his wife Maria.

The 1767 census records that Peter Sokolowski came from the Polish village of Newel.
