Soltner (Hockerberg)*

Widower Wolfgang Soltner and his son Johann arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 on a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Joh. Soldner [sic] and his son Joh. Wolfgang (age 16) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the father died en route.

Son Johann Wolfgang Soltner (age 17) is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 67 along with a note that he settled in the Volga German colony of Hockerberg in 1768.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Wolfgang Soltner was a farmer from Würzburg. The 1767 census records that Johann Wolfgang Soltner was a baker (Bäcker) from Ansbach.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
