Spitthof*

Franz Späthoff [sic], a tailor, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johann Peter, age 10; Anna, age 6; Louisa, age 4; Johann, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Der Jager under the command of Skipper Gabriel Wild.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 11 August 1767. Franz died, and his widow Elisabeth remarried to Johannes Job. They and her surviving son Peter (age 11) are recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 61.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that the Spithoff family came from the German region of Köln.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
