Spitzwieser*
Thomas Spitzwieser, a farmer, and his wife Magdalena arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Frei Gebruder under the command of Skipper Minzberger.
Thomas Spitzwieser and his wife Magdalena are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They indicated on the Oranienbaum passenger list that they wanted to go to Saratov, but they settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 76.
In 1788, Thomas Spitzwieser went to Astrakhan.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Thomas Spitzwieser came from the German village of Reit in Bayern (Bavaria).
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
